Itanagar, Mar 27: The North East India Tourism Confederation (NEITC) and the Association of Buddhist Tour Operators (ABTO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday to enhance collaboration in tourism across the Northeast.
The MoU, signed at Anini in Dibang Valley district, aims to develop Buddhist pilgrimage circuits in the region while promoting sustainable tourism practices.
It outlines a structured framework detailing the roles, responsibilities, and joint mechanisms of the two organisations to position the Northeast as a key destination for global Buddhist tourism.
Officials described the MoU as a non-binding expression of goodwill that fosters institutional cooperation without creating additional legal obligations beyond the specified terms.
