Arunachal Governor Urges Residents To Switch Off Lights For Earth Hour

Itanagar, March 27: Arunachal Pradesh Governor KT Parnaik has called on residents to participate in Earth Hour by turning off all non-essential lights for one hour from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on March 28.

Marking the 20th year of the global initiative, Parnaik encouraged citizens to make it “The Biggest Hour for Earth.” He highlighted the importance of conserving natural habitats, restoring ecosystems, and protecting biodiversity to reduce carbon emissions and address the effects of climate change, according to an official statement.

Organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Earth Hour is a worldwide movement aimed at raising awareness on climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainable practices. The symbolic lights-off act is designed to unite communities, promote dialogue, and encourage collective environmental action.
