Assam’s Phaagun Jyoti Wins Triple Crown At AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament

Phaagun Jyoti, a trainee of the All Assam Tennis Association and a student of Holy Child School, Guwahati, secured a triple crown at the AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament, a national ranking event, which concluded today at the Excellence Tennis Academy.

Phaagun Jyoti claimed titles in the girls under-12 singles, girls under-14 singles, and girls under-14 doubles categories.

In the girls under-12 singles final, she defeated Aaraina Vishal of Uttarakhand in a three-set match, 1-6, 7-5, 6-2. She then beat the same opponent in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, to win the girls under-14 singles title.

In the girls under-14 doubles final, Phaagun Jyoti, partnering with Meera Kothari of Haryana, defeated Abhitha Kumar and Samriddhi Sehgal of Haryana 6-2, 6-1 to complete the triple crown.

The All Assam Tennis Association congratulated Phaagun Jyoti for her consistent performance in AITA national ranking tournaments.
