Nagaland opened its medal tally at the 1st Khelo India Tribal Games in Chhattisgarh as Tsuchoi T claimed the bronze medal in the Women’s 5000m event.

Tsuchoi, from Noklak district on the Indo-Myanmar border, became the first athlete from the state to reach the podium at the Games. Her achievement reflects determination and perseverance, considering the remote and challenging terrain of her home district.

Nagaland Chief Minister’s Advisor Abu Metha congratulated her on Monday, saying, “Well done, Tsuchoi. Best wishes to the entire Nagaland contingent for many more medals ahead.”

Tsuchoi’s strong performance throughout the race marked a significant start for Nagaland at the Games.
