The Election Commission of India (ECI) has appointed IAS officer Raj Kumar Yadav (SK:2009) as the new Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Sikkim, with immediate effect.

The notification, issued on March 30, 2026, from Nirvachan Sadan under the Representation of the People Act, 1950, follows consultations with the state government. Yadav succeeds outgoing CEO Shri Prabhakar, and state authorities have been directed to complete the transition within a week.

During his tenure, Yadav will focus exclusively on the responsibilities of the Election Department. The order will be published in both the Gazette of India and the Sikkim State Gazette.

The appointment comes ahead of upcoming electoral processes in the state.
