Conrad Sangma stated that construction of a long-pending LPG bottling plant at the Shillong Bypass is progressing rapidly and is expected to be completed soon.

According to the Chief Minister, the facility, which had faced delays in the past, is now on track for early commissioning. Once operational, it is expected to improve the supply of domestic LPG across the state.

He also noted that Meghalaya is currently facing a slight shortage of domestic LPG. However, the situation remains manageable, with supply levels having increased to around 70 percent. He added that the central government is taking steps to address the issue, while the upcoming bottling plant is expected to strengthen supply in the future.

Separately, Sangma announced several decisions taken by the state Cabinet. These include the introduction of new service rules, a reduction in Value Added Tax (VAT) on compressed natural gas (CNG) from 14.5 percent to 5 percent, regularisation of ad-hoc staff, and the renaming of certain roads.
