Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh is set to visit Jiribam district from April 4 to 6 as part of ongoing peace-building and reconciliation efforts in the state, sources said.

During the visit, the Chief Minister is expected to engage with community leaders from both Meitei and Kuki groups to help restore trust and stability in the region. He is likely to arrive in Jiribam at around 12:55 pm on April 4.

As part of his tour, Singh will make brief stops at Leingangpokpi Police Outpost, Jiribam District Hospital, and Lamlenkhul to review ground-level conditions and interact with officials and local residents.

The visit comes shortly after his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on April 1, where the prevailing law and order situation in Manipur and the need to accelerate the peace process were discussed.

Following his return, the Chief Minister also met Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan, with discussions reportedly covering the security scenario in the state and updates from his meeting with the Union Home Minister.

Khemchand Singh will be accompanied by a delegation of seven MLAs, including Tongbram Robindro, Kongkham Robindro, L. Rameshwor Meetei, Dr S. Ranjan, H. Dingo, S. Premchandra, and Paonam Brojen.

Earlier on April 2, the Chief Minister chaired a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat to assess security arrangements along National Highways, emphasising that protection of life and uninterrupted movement of people and goods remain top priorities.

“We remain resolute in our commitment to uphold peace, stability, and public confidence through decisive and coordinated action,” Singh said in a post on X.

This will be his second visit to Jiribam since assuming office.
