Guwahati, April 3: In a shocking incident, a father allegedly killed his six-year-old daughter inside a train at Silanibari station in Assam’s Lakhimpur district on Friday morning, a Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) spokesperson confirmed.

The gruesome act took place around 9:15 am in a general coach of the 15813 Dekargaon-Murkongselek Express. Railway Police Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel rushed to the scene and arrested the accused on the spot.

Eyewitness statements were recorded, and the police took custody of the child’s body before the train departed Silanibari at 10:58 am.

The motive behind the murder remains unknown, with investigations underway.
