Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Friday met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and discussed issues related to financial support for the state and other hill regions.

During the meeting, Rio acknowledged the Centre’s support under “Part-X, Pride of Hills” of the Special Assistance Scheme for Capital Investment (SASCI), noting that the initiative addresses the needs of hill states and contributes to inclusive development.

The Chief Minister also raised concerns regarding Nagaland’s fiscal situation and stressed the need for sustained assistance to meet developmental priorities.

The Union Finance Minister assured continued support and understanding of the state’s financial requirements, according to the Chief Minister.
