Agartala, April 4, 2026: A gruesome murder has shaken South Kadamtala village under Dharmanagar subdivision after a mutilated body was recovered from a local pond early this morning.

Police and local sources informed that the deceased has been identified as Jamir Uddin (36), son of Tuttan Mia, a resident of Ward No. 7 in South Kadamtala. Jamir was known in the area as a notorious dacoit with a history of criminal activities.

The recovery was made when residents spotted the body floating in the pond belonging to Alauddin alias Riaz, son of Abdul Latif. Alarmed locals immediately informed Kadamtala police, who rushed to the scene and retrieved the corpse.

Police reports suggest the murder was carried out with extreme brutality. Jamir’s head had been smashed with a heavy object, leaving him unrecognizable. Investigators believe this was a planned killing, though the motive remains unclear.

In connection with the case, police have detained two suspects for questioning: Raina Bibi, wife of Ilas Ali; and Abul Hossain, son of Ilas Ali.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Authorities are probing whether the killing stemmed from old enmity or internal conflict within criminal circles.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere in Kadamtala remains tense. Police patrols have been intensified to prevent further unrest. The Officer-in-Charge of Kadamtala Police Station assured that the mystery behind the murder will be unraveled soon.
