Aizawl, April 7: The Mizoram government on Monday assured residents that the state has sufficient LPG supplies, emphasizing that measures are in place to prevent any cooking gas shortages.
The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said it is closely monitoring the supply chain to mitigate potential disruptions caused by ongoing tensions in West Asia. Citizens were urged to remain calm and refrain from panic buying, with officials stating there is no immediate cause for concern.
According to department data, Mizoram currently has a total of 39,988 domestic LPG cylinders—13,801 held by distributors and 26,187 in transit. For commercial use, 824 cylinders are available, with 512 at distributors and 312 in transit.
The department added that filling stations across the state are adequately stocked to meet daily demand.
