Twelve foreign delegates from seven countries, representing Election Management Bodies, arrived at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport on Wednesday as part of the International Election Visitors’ Programme (IEVP).

The delegates are in Assam to observe the election process ahead of the Assembly polls scheduled for April 9. They are accompanied by three officials from the Election Commission of India for a two-day visit.

The visit is aimed at promoting international collaboration and observation of electoral processes in the state.
