Agartala, April 08, 2026: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on TIPRA Motha Party, alleging that its tenure in the tribal council was marked by corruption and unfulfilled promises.
Speaking to journalists after concluding election roadshows in Bodhjungnagar-Wakinagar, Simna-Tamakari, Jirania and Mandainagar-Pulinpur constituencies, the Chief Minister said that people had once reposed faith in Motha by giving the party an opportunity, but it failed to live up to public expectations.
“The people gave Motha a chance, but they could not keep their promises. Their entire tenure was marked only by corruption,” he alleged.
Dr. Saha said the Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to contest all 28 seats in the forthcoming ADC elections independently and had begun groundwork in tribal-dominated areas nearly three months ago.
He alleged that despite receiving substantial financial allocations on several occasions, the Motha-led administration failed to undertake meaningful development works. Drawing a comparison with the previous Left Front regime, he claimed that a similar pattern of administrative failure had existed earlier as well.
The Chief Minister asserted that the BJP remains the only political party capable of ensuring transparent governance and said that people have now realised this.
He further said that Narendra Modi has consistently remained sincere and committed to the development and upliftment of tribal communities across the country.
