The Government of Meghalaya, through the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Power Finance Corporation for the upgradation of healthcare infrastructure under a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The project aims to strengthen healthcare delivery across West Jaintia Hills District by providing modern diagnostic and critical care equipment to the District Hospital, Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Unit, five Community Health Centres (CHCs), thirteen Primary Health Centres (PHCs), and more than sixty Health & Wellness Sub-Centres.
With a total outlay of ₹5.87 crore, the initiative also includes provisions for training healthcare personnel and establishing maintenance support systems. The upgraded facilities are expected to benefit over 2.5 lakh residents in the district.
The announcement was made in the presence of Health Minister Wailadmiki Shylla.
