Gangtok, Apr 14: Sikkimese filmmaker Tribeny Rai’s debut feature film Shape of Momo has won the Best Fiction Film award at the fifth P K Rosy Film Festival in Chennai, organisers said on April 14.

The award was presented during the festival’s closing ceremony held on April 12.

The film tells the story of a woman who returns to her village in Sikkim after leaving a city job and faces family pressure and societal expectations upon her return.

Reacting to the recognition, director Tribeny Rai said in a statement, “Our team is thrilled and deeply honoured by this recognition, especially from a festival that champions Dalit and marginalised voices. It means the world to us.”
