Agartala, April 18, 2026: Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, founder of the Tipra Motha Party, on Saturday emphasised unity and the need to secure constitutional rights for the Tiprasa people, stating that electoral success alone should not be seen as a true victory.
Addressing media persons before chairing a meeting with elected and unsuccessful candidates of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council elections, in the presence of party president Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhwal, he said discussions should focus on collective progress rather than posts or positions.
Debbarma highlighted the unique status of Tiprasa and stressed the urgency of ensuring their rightful entitlements. He also expressed concern over unrest in certain areas, urging members to maintain peace and work towards safeguarding people’s rights.
Stating that internal conflict weakens the nation, he called for unity among Indians. Referring to the Supreme Court of India verdict, he said Village Council elections are likely by June, with the party committed to restoring grassroots democracy and delivering long-pending development.
