Manipur: Two Insurgents Held Near Indo-Myanmar Border

Security forces arrested two insurgents from T. Bongmol area under Moreh Police Station in Tengnoupal district, a sensitive belt along the Indo-Myanmar border where surveillance has been intensified amid continued militant movement.

According to a statement released by Manipur Police on Tuesday, it said the arrested individuals have been identified as L/Corporal Salam Yaima Meitei (19) of Phougakchao Ikhai in Bishnupur district, linked to the PREPAK-PRO, and Sepoy Wakrambam Rahul Meitei alias Malemnganba (18) of Changangei Awang Leikai in Imphal West district, associated with the PLA. Authorities said further investigation is underway.

In a separate incident on April 21, Manipur Police arrested two individuals from Tingri Makha Leikai in Imphal East district for allegedly triggering violence at Koirengei crossing along National Highway-02, the Imphal–Dimapur road.
