Security forces have arrested two active militants belonging to different proscribed outfits in separate operations across Manipur, while also recovering a cache of arms and ammunition from Thoubal district.
According to official sources, an active cadre of KYKL was arrested on May 4 from his residence at Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai Mongkhang Lambi in Imphal East district. The arrest was made in connection with a case registered at Singjamei Police Station. A mobile phone and an Aadhaar card were seized from his possession.

In a separate operation on May 3, security forces apprehended an active cadre of KCP (Ibungo Ngangomba faction), from Kakching Khunou Lamkhai area along the Indo-Burma Sugnu Road under Waikhong Police Station in Kakching district. He hails from Changangei Mayai Leikai in Imphal West district. A mobile phone and a Hyundai i20 car bearing registration number MN01AX-9290 were seized during the operation.
Meanwhile, on May 4, security forces recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition from Leishangthem Ikop Pat area under Thoubal Police Station in Thoubal district.
The recovered items include one SMG carbine with magazine, four bolt-action rifles, one 9 mm pistol with magazine, and three live rounds.
Security operations in the state continue as part of ongoing efforts to curb insurgent activities and maintain law and order.
