Agartala, June 16, 2026: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday directed senior officials to accelerate the repair of roads damaged due to monsoon rains and ensure that commuters do not face difficulties during the rainy season.
The directive was issued during a meeting of the Task Monitoring System (TMS) held through video conferencing from the Conference Hall of the State Secretariat. Reviewing various development and public welfare issues, the Chief Minister instructed concerned departments to take immediate steps for restoration of damaged roads while maintaining construction quality.
Dr. Saha specifically reviewed the progress of the Mohanpur–Subal Singh road project and directed officials to complete the work within the scheduled timeframe. He also stressed timely completion of all ongoing infrastructure projects across the state.
The meeting covered key areas including law and order, healthcare services, infrastructure development, waste management, and other citizen-centric issues. The Chief Minister called for coordinated efforts to curb drug abuse and criminal activities, directing police authorities to strengthen mobile patrolling in all districts to ensure public safety, especially in parks and family recreation areas.
While reviewing healthcare services, Dr. Saha emphasized maintaining cleanliness in hospitals and improving the functioning of Primary Health Centres. He also instructed Food Safety Officers to increase inspections and ensure that food establishments follow proper safety and hygiene standards.
The Chief Minister further reviewed drainage systems, water-pumping arrangements during heavy rainfall, LED display maintenance in urban areas, and waste management initiatives. He directed departments to remain alert and take preventive measures. Ensuring uninterrupted power supply during adverse weather conditions was also highlighted.
Earlier, Chief Minister’s Secretary Dr. P. K. Chakraborty held virtual discussions with District Magistrates of all eight districts regarding TMS-related issues.
Senior officials, including departmental secretaries, Director of Information and Cultural Affairs Bimbisar Bhattacharjee, DMs, SPs, and district-level officers participated in the meeting.
