Miss Universe Manipur 2026 is set to take place on June 21 at Chandrakriti Auditorium, Palace Compound, Imphal, with 20 contestants from across the state competing for the coveted title and an opportunity to represent Manipur at the national level.
Announcing the event during a press conference, Miss Universe Manipur State Director and renowned fashion designer Robert Naorem said that the winner of the state pageant will earn the chance to participate in Miss Universe India 2026, the official platform that selects India’s representative for the globally acclaimed Miss Universe competition.
Naorem stated that the pageant aims to create opportunities for aspiring young women from Manipur by providing exposure to one of the country’s premier beauty, leadership and empowerment platforms.
Highlighting the broader vision of the competition, he said the Miss Universe platform has consistently promoted women’s empowerment and encouraged participants to emerge as leaders, advocates and ambassadors for meaningful social causes.
As part of this initiative, Miss Universe Manipur has partnered with the Manipur AIDS Control Society and For Better Kangleipak to undertake various awareness and community engagement programmes.
These include cleanliness drives, tree plantation campaigns, and initiatives focused on HIV/AIDS awareness and environmental responsibility.
The event will be directed and choreographed by former Mumbai-based model Sheetal Sharma, while contestants will undergo grooming sessions under the guidance of Noyonita Lodh, former Miss Universe India 2014.
Miss Universe India 2025 Manika Vishwakarma and National Director of Operations Amzad Khan will attend the event as special guests and judges.
Naorem said the pageant seeks to provide an appropriate platform for emerging talent from Manipur and help participants gain recognition at both national and international levels.
