Tipura: 2-Day CPIM State Committee Meeting Begins in Agartala, Focus on Political Strategy and Future Programmes

Agartala, June 18, 2026: A crucial two-day meeting of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM) State Committee began on Thursday at Dasharath Deb Smriti Bhavan in Agartala, with senior party leaders gathering to discuss organizational matters, the prevailing political scenario, and future strategies.

CPIM All-India General Secretary M. A. Baby arrived in the state to attend the meeting. Along with him, Politburo members Mohammed Salim and Sridip Bhattacharya are also participating in the discussions.

The meeting is expected to review several important issues, including the party’s organizational activities, the political situation in Tripura, and the outcome of recent elections in five states as well as the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections.

Speaking about the agenda, CPIM State Secretary and Leader of Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury said that detailed discussions would be held on strengthening the party’s organizational structure and increasing public engagement.

“The meeting will focus on reviewing the current political situation, analysing election results, and preparing future movements and struggles. Strengthening the organization and increasing the activities of party cadres are also major points of discussion,” he said.

The leaders will also deliberate on ways to expand the party’s connect with people and prepare programmes based on the current political challenges in the state.

The decisions and strategies adopted during the two-day meeting are likely to play an important role in determining the CPIM’s upcoming political activities and organizational direction in Tripura.
