Tripura : Droupadi Murmu Flags-Off Two Passenger Trains In Agartala; Offers Prayer At Mata Tripura Sundari Temple

Agartala, October 13, 2022 : The President of India Droupadi Murmu on Thursday flagged off two passenger trains – 12097/12098 Agartala-Jiribam-Agartala Janshatabdi Express extended to Khongsang, Manipur and 02518/02517 Guwahati-Kolkata-Guwahati Express extended to Agartala at Agartala Railway Station.

In this flagging-off ceremony, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Union Minister of State Pratima Bhoumik, Transport minister Pranajit Singha Roy and General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Anshul Gupta were present. The President of India was also accompanied by the MP Rebati Tripura, MLA Mimi Majumder, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Director General of Police Amitabha Ranjan and others.

On this occasion, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) General Manager Ansul Gupta welcomed the President in the traditional ‘Risha’ of the state and presented her with a memento. At the beginning of the program, President Draupadi Murmu visited the Vistadome coach of the Jan Shatabdi Express train. A documentary film was also screened on the occasion.

Thereafter, Murmu reached Udaipur in Gomati district through helicopter from Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport where she offered prayer at Mata Tripura Sundari Temple, one of the 51 “Shaktipeeths” in Indian subcontinent. While offering prayers, she was accompanied by the Chief Minister Dr Saha, Tourism minister Pranajit Singha Roy, MLA Biplab Kumar Ghosh and others.

Later on Thursday noon, the President of India Murmu left for Guwahati for inaugurating various projects and will leave for Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Friday afternoon.
