Manipur’s State Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister, Thongam Biswajit, participated in the observance of World Ozone Day alongside esteemed dignitaries in a program organized by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Manipur. The event, aimed at raising awareness about the importance of protecting the ozone layer, featured the ‘Ozone Run’, a symbolic initiative to emphasize collective action for environmental preservation.
The run was flagged off by Minister Biswajit from the Kangla Western Gate in Imphal, with participants, including students and environmental activists, joining in the effort to highlight the need for safeguarding the ozone layer. The event aligns with global efforts to combat ozone depletion and mitigate its effects on climate change.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Thongam Biswajit stressed the significance of protecting the ozone layer for future generations and emphasized the role of education and awareness in fostering a sustainable environment.
