In a significant drug bust, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Manipur Police, seized 578 grams of heroin valued at Rs 2.31 crore in the international market. The operation took place on November 17, 2024, in Senapati district, Manipur, along National Highway 02 (NH-02) between Tadubi and Mao Gate.

The successful operation was based on reliable intelligence, with authorities recovering the heroin at Marty’s Park near Mao Gate. Along with the drugs, the vehicle used for transportation and the individual involved were also apprehended.

The contraband, along with the vehicle and the arrested person, has been handed over to the Mao Police Station for further investigation. This operation highlights the continued efforts of security forces to combat the growing drug trade in the region.
