Assam Rifles Seizes Drugs Worth Rs 74.90 Lakhs In Mizoram; Three Arrested

The Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Squad of Mizoram, seized 107 grams of heroin worth Rs 74.90 lakhs during two separate operations in Aizawl, Mizoram, on November 20. Three individuals were arrested in connection with the drugs seized from the Dawrpui and Thuampui areas.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Lalpeksanga (29) and Lalfamkima (22), both residents of Salem Veng, Dawrpui, Aizawl, and Lalchawisangi (35), a resident of Champhai, Mizoram. The heroin was found hidden in a transparent polythene cover during the operations.

The contraband and the accused have been handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Squad, Excise, and Narcotics Department of Mizoram for further investigation. This seizure is part of the Assam Rifles’ ongoing efforts to curb narcotics trafficking and protect India’s borders from the growing threat of drug smuggling.
