Aizawl, Dec 10: A total of 147 people have died due to tuberculosis (TB) in Mizoram since January, according to health officials. The data was shared during the launch of a 100-day TB elimination program in the state.
Between January and December, 2,164 people were diagnosed with TB out of 24,017 samples tested. While 80% of the infected patients have been successfully treated, the number of deaths highlights the ongoing health challenge in the region. The new program aims to intensify efforts to eliminate TB and reduce its impact.
