Sikkim Governor Attends “Rising Rajasthan” Global Investment Summit In Jaipur

Om Prakash Mathur, the Governor of Sikkim, participated in the second day of the “Rising Rajasthan” Global Investment Summit 2024 on December 10, held at JECC, Sitapura, Jaipur. The three-day event, organized by the Government of Rajasthan, aims to attract investment and enhance the state’s international relations.

Governor Mathur was joined by several distinguished leaders, including Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Union Minister for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav.

In his address, Mathur praised the global success and entrepreneurial spirit of the Pravasi Rajasthani community, describing the summit as a significant platform to reconnect with the diaspora and showcase Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage. He also emphasized the need to tap into Rajasthan’s vast talent pool, calling for initiatives to transform the state into a model of development for India. Mathur further stressed the importance of promoting the “Vocal for Local” movement to accelerate the state’s economic growth.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, during the event, announced the creation of a new department focused on the welfare of the Pravasi Rajasthani community. The department will leverage the expertise of the diaspora in key sectors such as tourism, healthcare, and education to contribute to the state’s development.

The summit, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 8, will conclude on December 10, featuring discussions on investment opportunities and strengthening global ties for Rajasthan.
