Two Myanmarese Women Escape From Mizoram Jail

Aizawl, Dec 19: Two Myanmarese women prisoners escaped from a jail in Champhai district, Mizoram, on Thursday, police said. The escapees were identified as Vansuieni alias Suinunfeli (36), from Tahan in Kalaymyo, Sagaing division, Myanmar, and Lalchhanmawii (44), from Khawmawi village in Chin state.

The women managed to flee through a toilet made of tin sheets within the prison. A case has been filed at the Champhai police station, and a search operation is underway to locate and apprehend the escapees.
