A one-day sensitization programme on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013, was conducted today at the Conference Hall of the Chief Electoral Officer’s Office in Lamphelpat. The initiative aimed to empower women employees of the Election Department by educating them on the Act’s provisions and their legal rights.
The event highlighted the roles and responsibilities of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and included a technical session on the complaint-filing process in cases of workplace harassment. Participants were guided through the mechanisms and procedures available for addressing such incidents effectively.
Joint Chief Electoral Officers Ramananda Nongmeikapam and Md. S. Daulat Khan addressed the gathering, underscoring the importance of fostering a safe and respectful work environment for women employees.
