Guwahati, Jan 6: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma engaged in a series of crucial meetings with industry leaders in Mumbai on Saturday, aiming to attract investment to the state. Sarma met Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran, describing the discussions as “fruitful,” and emphasized Assam’s investment potential ahead of the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit.

The meeting with Chandrasekaran focused on expanding the collaboration between Assam and Tata Group, with Sarma inviting the conglomerate’s CEOs to participate in the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit scheduled for February 24-25 in Guwahati. The summit is intended to showcase Assam’s growing appeal for investors and entrepreneurs.

Additionally, Sarma met Aalok Shanghvi, Executive Director of Sun Pharma, to discuss opportunities in Assam’s pharmaceutical sector. The Chief Minister extended an invitation to Shanghvi to join the summit and explore potential investments in the state’s thriving pharmaceutical industry.

Sarma’s visit to Mumbai is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen Assam’s ties with key business leaders and position the state as a prime investment destination in India.
