Agartala, Jan 10: A joint operation by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and Tripura Police on January 9, 2025, led to the seizure of contraband goods valued at ₹17 lakh along the Indo-Bangladesh border. The operation took place near the Border Out Post (BOP) Samarganj.
During the operation, the security forces recovered 12 bundles of clothing worth ₹13,00,000, which were intended for smuggling into Bangladesh. Additionally, narcotics, including Ganja and Phensedyl, along with sugar and other contraband items worth ₹4,23,980, were confiscated. Several cattle were also rescued.
The operation forms part of the ongoing measures to prevent illegal cross-border activities along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
