Agartala, January 16, 2025: Shri Kamakhya Kalapeeth – the Centre for Indian Classical Dances (CICD), led by the legendary Indian classical dancer and Guru of Bharatanatyam and Odissi, Dr. Sonal Mansingh, presented their much-acclaimed classical dance performance, Bhava-Ganga: The Perennial Flow of Creation, on January 13, 2025, at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, Agartala.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), the program brought together prominent dignitaries, artists, and audiences to celebrate the unifying power of art. Shri Indrasena Reddy Nallu and his wife, Smt. Renuka Nallu, graced the occasion as Chief Guests. Shri Jitendra Kumar Sinha, Chief Secretary, Government of Tripura, also attended as the Guest of Honour, adding to the event’s grandeur.
While presenting the program, Dr. Sonal Mansingh explained the idea behind Bhava-Ganga. She remarked, “Bhava-Ganga is a testament to the enduring power of art to connect humanity. Through this presentation, I hope to inspire audiences to draw strength and harmony from our cultural roots. It is not merely a performance but a journey into India’s spiritual and cultural essence. I am honored to share this experience with the people of Agartala, a city that embodies the spirit of India’s diverse traditions.”
The event commenced at 6 PM and attracted a full house, with attendees captivated by the performance’s blend of technique, rhythm, and devotion. Conceptualized by Dr. Mansingh, Bhava-Ganga seamlessly integrated classical dance, music, and narrative storytelling, emphasizing universal values through the lens of Indian traditions.
Adding a regional dimension, the performance paid homage to Tripura’s cultural heritage, with Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, Agartala serving as a fitting venue. This connection resonated deeply, linking Tripura’s artistic essence with India’s broader classical traditions and leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
Dr. Mansingh, a recipient of the Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan, has devoted her life to preserving and promoting India’s cultural heritage. These awards recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to arts and culture.
