Agartala, Jan 27: Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Sunday asserted that the state is making significant strides in various areas, including infrastructure, health, education, and the welfare of its people. Speaking at the Republic Day ceremony at the Assam Rifles ground in Agartala, the Governor highlighted the central government’s support in driving the state’s progress.
Nallu emphasized the historic agreement signed in March 2024 between the Centre, the state, and the Tipra Motha Party, aimed at addressing the concerns of the indigenous people. He called the agreement a key milestone for ensuring the development and welfare of the indigenous communities.
The Governor also commended the peace agreements with the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and the All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF), describing them as vital for maintaining peace and fostering the state’s progress.
In his address, Nallu noted that the Centre had sanctioned Rs 2,800 crore for essential road projects to boost infrastructure development. He also highlighted 65 ongoing projects under the Smart City Mission, valued at Rs 58.01 crore, aimed at transforming urban infrastructure.
The Governor also pointed to a significant initiative to modernize 19 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state, in collaboration with Tata Technology. The Rs 683.27 crore project is expected to improve vocational training and skill development across Tripura.
