Arunachal CM Pema Khandu Inaugurates Rs 60 Crore Multi-Level Parking Projects In Itanagar To Ease Traffic

Itanagar, Feb 19: Chief Minister Pema Khandu has inaugurated three multi-level parking projects worth Rs 60 crore in Itanagar, aiming to address the growing traffic congestion in the city. The newly launched facilities include a 108-vehicle Multi-Level Automated Car Parking at the Civil Secretariat, and two additional multi-storied parking structures at ESS Sector and the APSTS Bus Station in Ganga Market.

The Civil Secretariat parking project, valued at Rs 18.09 crore, offers a ten-floor structure with both underground and above-ground parking, along with amenities such as a gym and cafeteria on the terrace. It is designed to cater to the long-term parking needs of Civil Secretariat staff and officers.

The two other projects, funded under the Social Infrastructure Development Fund (Ministry of DoNER), provide a combined 243 parking slots. The ESS Sector facility offers 143 spaces, while the APSTS Bus Station facility provides 100 parking slots across five levels.

The inauguration event was attended by Urban Development Minister Balo Raja, Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso, IMC Mayor Tamme Phassang, Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta, and other key officials. The leaders emphasized the importance of utilizing these new parking facilities to reduce roadside parking and ease traffic congestion in Itanagar.
