Agartala, January 31, 2026: Indian playback singer Shruti Pathak, known for hit Bollywood tracks like “Tujhe Bhula Diya” (Anjaana Anjaani), “Marjaava” (Fashion), and “Shubhaarambh” (Kai Po Che), is set to visit Tripura for the first time. She will perform at Belonia during the Nesha Mukta Football Tournament on January 31.
Ahead of her visit, Shruti Pathak spoke to Northeast Today about her excitement, music, social responsibility, and her message to the youth.
Q: This is your first visit to Belonia and also to Tripura. What are your initial impressions?
A: I’m really, really excited. Not just Belonia—this is my first visit to Tripura, and I’m truly thrilled. I’m very much looking forward to meeting the people here and performing for them. It feels special, and I can’t wait to experience Tripura for the first time.
Q: Does performing in smaller towns feel different from big-city concerts?
A: Absolutely. From whatever I’ve seen online, Belonia and Tripura are very beautiful. I also know that people here have a deep interest in music. I’ve noticed the excitement on social media already. Big cities have easy access to concerts, but places like Belonia may not see them very often. That makes the audience’s excitement—and my own—much more thrilling and special.
Q: Which of your songs do you enjoy performing live the most, and why?
A: I’ve seen fans posting about certain songs on social media, and I’ll definitely perform those. I want to make sure the audience has the best experience. My aim is to give my best in Tripura so that I can come back again and again and continue receiving love from the people of Belonia and across the state.
Q: The Nesha Mukta Football Tournament promotes a drug-free society. How important is it for artists to support such causes?
A: It’s extremely important. Supporting such causes is our social responsibility. The youth are the pillars and the future of our nation. Any initiative that benefits future generations deserves support, and I feel artists should definitely be part of such movements.
Q: What message would you like to give to the youth of Tripura regarding addiction and healthy choices?
A: Healthier choices physically also lead to healthier choices mentally. That is the first step toward a brighter future. I wish the youth all the best and hope they make the right choices—not just for themselves, but for the generations to come.
Q: Any message for your fans in Belonia and across Tripura?
A: I’m really excited and truly looking forward to seeing everyone live and performing for them. I also hope to do some sightseeing and experience the local food and culture of Tripura.
Q: Would you like to collaborate with or listen to music from the Northeast in the future?
A: Absolutely. The Northeast is incredibly rich in musical traditions. I love northeastern and folk music, and I’m very keen to explore it more. I genuinely hope to collaborate with talented artists from the region in the future.
