Agartala, March 11, 2026: Reaffirming the commitment of the state government to strengthen digital learning and empower students, Tripura Information Technology Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Wednesday announced the release of financial assistance under the Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana (MYYY) for the academic year 2024–25.
Speaking at a programme held at the Secretariat in Agartala, the minister said the initiative reflects the vision of Chief Minister Manik Saha to enhance digital access and learning opportunities for students across the state.
“Under the leadership of Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, the Government of Tripura continues its commitment to empowering students with improved facilities and greater access to digital learning opportunities,” said Singha Roy while addressing the programme.
The minister announced that a total amount of ₹6,23,90,000 has been released under the scheme. “I am glad to release ₹6,23,90,000 under the Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana for the Academic Year 2024–25 at a programme held at the Secretariat, Agartala,” he stated.
Highlighting the benefits of the initiative, Singha Roy said the scheme will support thousands of students studying in government colleges across the state. “Through this initiative, 12,478 eligible final-year students studying in Government Colleges will receive ₹5,000 each as a smartphone grant. This will enable them to access digital learning resources and expand their educational opportunities,” he added.
The minister further informed that the scheme is being implemented by the Directorate of Information Technology under the Government of Tripura to ensure transparent and smooth distribution of benefits.
Officials said the initiative aims to bridge the digital divide among students and promote the use of technology in higher education, helping young learners remain connected with modern educational resources and online platforms.
