Agartala, August 25, 2025: Honouring youth innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, the Pradesh BJP Minority Morcha on Monday organised the state-level distribution ceremony of the Dr. Kalam Startup Youth Award 2.0 at the BJP headquarters in Agartala. A total of 312 young achievers from different parts of Tripura were felicitated for their contributions to entrepreneurship and nation-building.

The program was attended by BJP Tripura State president and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, Minority Morcha State president Billal Mia, and several senior leaders of the party.

A highlight of the event was the felicitation of Shafiqul Islam, one of the national-level winners, who received recognition from Bhattacharjee and the organizing committee.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajib Bhattacharjee lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “New Bharat” and stressed the importance of atmanirbharta (self-reliance) among the youth. He noted that the award, launched in 2024 by the BJP Minority Front, carries forward the ideals of former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, whose dream was to see India advance through youth-led innovation.

This year, the award received an overwhelming 22,300 applications from minority youth across the country. Out of these, 24 were selected as winners, including 21 zonal achievers and three national honorees, reflecting the breadth of talent emerging nationwide.

Organisers said the initiative not only acknowledges the achievements of individual youth but also strengthens the broader vision of Viksit Bharat, in line with Dr. Kalam’s legacy and the government’s mission of empowering young innovators.
