A powerful 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal on January 7, with tremors felt in Sikkim, Delhi-NCR, and other regions of North India. The earthquake’s epicenter was located approximately 201 kilometers from Tadong, at latitude 28.86E and longitude 87.51N, according to the National Centre for Seismology.
The earthquake hit Kathmandu around 6:50 AM, causing panic among residents who rushed out of their homes for safety. While no major damage has been reported so far, tremors were also felt in surrounding areas, including Bihar and parts of Delhi-NCR.
