In a significant decision aimed at strengthening the state’s education and healthcare systems, the Tripura Cabinet on Tuesday approved a series of recruitment proposals across various departments.
Briefing the media after the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Cabinet spokesperson and Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced that six Dental Medical Officers will be recruited under the Health and Family Welfare Department through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC).
In a major push to address the shortage of subject experts in higher secondary schools, the Cabinet also approved the recruitment of 915 Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) for Classes 11 and 12. The recruitment process will be handled by the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT). Eligible candidates must hold a postgraduate degree with a minimum of 50% marks along with a B.Ed qualification.
Further, the minister informed that the Cabinet has sanctioned the creation and filling up of 700 new posts of Graduate Teachers for Classes 9 and 10 under the Directorate of Secondary Education. These appointments will be made on a fixed-pay basis.
Additionally, under the Higher Education Department, the Cabinet has approved the recruitment of 37 academic and administrative posts at the National Law University. These include positions such as Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, Deputy Registrar, and Assistant Registrar. The university will conduct the recruitment independently as per its own rules.
“These steps reaffirm the government’s resolve to enhance education and healthcare infrastructure in the state,” Chowdhury said.
