Advisor for CAWD and Taxes Kudecho Khamo on Tuesday said sports can be a viable profession providing employment and prosperity, and urged young people to take sports seriously.
Speaking at the golden jubilee celebration of the Khutsami Village Youth Organisation, Khamo referred to steps taken by the Nagaland government to improve sports infrastructure and athlete development across the state. He said sustained efforts are being made to support training facilities and create opportunities for sportspersons.
The advisor called on athletes to remain disciplined and committed, stressing that skill development requires proper training and perseverance. He also expressed concern over divisions within society and emphasised the need for unity for the overall progress of Nagaland.
The event was attended by local leaders, youth representatives and members of the village community.
