Governor-designate Ajay Kumar Bhalla was sworn in as the Governor of Nagaland on Monday at Raj Bhavan.
Meanwhile, the five apex tribal bodies Angami Public Organization, Ao Senden, Lotha Hoho, Rengma Hoho, and Sumi Hoho under the banner of the 5 Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy, expressed regret over their inability to attend the ceremony. They cited a resolution adopted on August 9, which remains in force, as the reason for their absence.
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio congratulated Bhalla on Twitter, stating, “Congratulations, Ajay Bhalla, on being sworn in as the Governor of Nagaland. We look forward to your leadership and guidance in advancing the State’s development and progress. Wishing you a successful and impactful tenure in service to the people.”
