Security forces recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation at Old Gothol village under Churachandpur Police Station in Churachandpur district on March 2, 2026.

According to official sources, the items seized from the area included one country-made single barrel rifle, one bolt action rifle, one country-made grenade, one .22 rifle fitted with a telescopic sight, one pumpi ammunition, four single barrel ammunition rounds, one pumpi mortar and five country-made shells.

In a separate operation on the same day, Manipur Police arrested Waikhom Ratan Singh (46) from his residence at Moirangkhom Loklaobung under Imphal Police Station in Imphal West district. A 9 mm pistol was recovered from his possession.

Further investigation is underway in both cases.
