Security forces carried out coordinated operations across Manipur on April 2, recovering a significant cache of arms, ammunition, explosives, and suspected narcotics from two separate locations in Churachandpur and Tengnoupal districts, officials said.

In Churachandpur district, a search operation in the general area of Dampi ridge under Churachandpur Police Station led to the recovery of a large quantity of weapons and related equipment. The seized items include two 12-bore rifles, two front-loaded single-barrel rifles, one modified AK-47 rifle, and two 9 mm pistols, each with a magazine.
Additionally, three magazines of different arms, four pumpis, and 81 live rounds of ammunition of various calibres were recovered.
Security personnel also found seven 12-bore fired cases, two bulletproof jackets, and two walkie-talkies during the operation. Pellets of Pompi explosive weighing approximately 1 kg were also seized from the site.
In a separate operation the same day, security forces recovered three packets of WY tablets weighing around 3.5 kg from the Homeguard Veng area of Moreh under Moreh Police Station in Tengnoupal district.
Authorities stated that further investigation is underway in both cases to ascertain the origin and intended use of the recovered items.
