In a solemn and deeply emotional ceremony , the late Indian Army soldier Hanuman Ram Jat, who had been tragically swept away in the recent Sikkim flash flood, was laid to rest with full state honors in his hometown of Amarpura, located in the Ajmer district on Tuesday as per police officials.

Hanuman Ram Jat, a dedicated 29-year-old medical corps soldier of the Indian Army, met his untimely fate when a cloudburst devastated Sikkim on October 4.

Astonishingly, his mortal remains were discovered far from the site of the tragedy, an astounding 130 kilometers away, adding to the surreal circumstances of his loss, as stated by Rupangarh SHO Jagdish Prasad.

On the night of Monday, the mortal remains of Hanuman Ram Jat reached Kishangarh, a town in the Ajmer district, and were then transported to his native village of Amarpura on the following Tuesday morning.

The soldier’s last rites took place on Tuesday afternoon, and the state paid its respects with full honors. Amidst the mournful crowd, Hanuman Ram Jat’s five-year-old son, Yash, undertook the solemn duty of lighting his father’s funeral pyre, a poignant moment that brought tears to the eyes of all present.

Notably,several dignitaries attended the ceremony to pay their respects, including Member of Parliament Bhagirath Chaudhary, Pushkar MLA Suresh Singh Rawat, and numerous police and administrative officials.
