Itanagar, March 9: The Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh on Monday passed five government bills by voice vote during the ongoing budget session. The bills were approved after discussions in the House.
The legislations, introduced on March 6, relate to fire and emergency services, regulation of education department postings, amendments to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) law, urban planning, and anti-defection provisions for local bodies.
Home Minister Mama Natung introduced the Arunachal Pradesh Fire and Emergency Services Bill, which includes provisions related to fire prevention, safety measures in buildings, and emergency response mechanisms.
Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona tabled the Arunachal Pradesh Transfer and Posting of Employees of Education Department (Regulation and Management) Bill, aimed at regulating the transfer and posting of teaching and non-teaching staff in the education department.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein presented the Arunachal Pradesh Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, which was also approved by the House.
The Arunachal Pradesh Urban and Country Planning Bill was introduced by Urban Affairs Minister Balo Raja. The bill deals with provisions related to urban planning and development.
Panchayati Raj Minister Ojing Tasing moved the Arunachal Pradesh Local Authorities (Prohibition of Defection) (Amendment) Bill, which updates provisions of the 2003 anti-defection law applicable to local bodies.
All five bills were passed by voice vote in the Assembly.
