3rd Quarter DISHA Meeting For Tawang District Held; Union Minister Kiren Rijiju Chairs Virtually

The 3rd Quarter District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Tawang district was held on Tuesday at the NIC Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. The meeting was chaired virtually by Union Minister for Parliamentary and Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju.

Deputy Commissioner Namgyal Angmo, IAS, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Leki Gombu, and heads of various departments implementing Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) were present during the session.

DC Tawang opened the meeting by highlighting its importance in assessing the progress and addressing challenges related to the implementation of both central and state-funded development programmes in the district.

ZPC Leki Gombu informed the Union Minister that the status of ongoing projects was reviewed during the recent two-day District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) meeting held on June 30 and July 1. He thanked the minister for participating virtually and reaffirmed the district’s commitment to effective scheme implementation.

In his address, Kiren Rijiju expressed regret for missing the earlier meeting due to prior commitments. As Chairman of the DISHA Committee for all 17 districts in his constituency, he acknowledged the Tawang administration’s consistent efforts in the successful execution and fund utilization of government schemes.

Assistant Commissioner-cum-Ex-Officio Deputy Director (Rural Development) Tenzin Jambey presented a detailed review of CSS implementation through a PowerPoint presentation, highlighting performance indicators across various sectors.

The meeting concluded with actionable directives and reaffirmed cooperation among stakeholders to ensure timely and transparent implementation of development initiatives in Tawang.
