Itanagar, Nov 12: Air cargo services at Donyi Polo Airport in Itanagar have resumed following a brief suspension that occurred during the transition of operations to the newly inaugurated terminal building.
According to a statement from the office of Arunachal Pradesh Civil Aviation Minister Balo Raja on Tuesday, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) regional director has granted approval for the resumption of cargo operations and informed both the airport director and the Indigo Services manager.
The suspension had earlier posed challenges for local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in dispatching consignments to the India International Trade Fair 2025 in New Delhi, scheduled from November 14 to 27.
Responding to the concerns, Minister Raja wrote to the airport authorities urging immediate restoration of cargo services. His continued follow-up led to the clearance from BCAS for resumption of operations on Tuesday.
Donyi Polo Airport Director P. Narendra confirmed that Indigo Airline has completed all necessary arrangements, and air cargo services have become operational with immediate effect.
