The Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet has approved major relaxations under the Chief Minister Disability Pension component of the Chief Minister Social Security Scheme (CMSSS), marking a significant step in inclusive welfare.
Key changes include the removal of the age criterion, making all persons with disabilities eligible for the scheme regardless of age. Previously, only individuals aged three years and above qualified.
The Cabinet has also revised the minimum disability requirement from 70% to 40%, thereby expanding coverage to a larger section of the differently-abled population.
The move is aimed at ensuring enhanced social support and accessibility for persons with disabilities across the state.
