Arunachal CM Inaugurates 48th Yonex-Sunrise National Badminton Championship In Itanagar

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday inaugurated the Yonex-Sunrise 48th Inter-State, Inter-Zonal & Junior National Badminton Championship 2025 in Itanagar. The week-long championship features participation from 32 States and Union Territories, with 428 top young shuttlers from across the country competing.

Speaking at the event, CM Khandu announced that the state-of-the-art DK Badminton Academy, currently under construction on a 20,700 sq. m campus with 15–20 world-class courts, will soon be fully operational.

The championship also showcases the Indian Junior Badminton Team, which recently won a historic Bronze Medal at the Junior World Badminton Championships 2025 held in Guwahati, Assam.
