Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing global attention to the state’s tribal heritage during his visit to Japan.
In a message posted on X, Khandu said Modi’s efforts made the people of Arunachal proud by promoting the region’s cultural identity internationally.
During his Tokyo engagements, Modi donned the Tukok, a traditional attire of the Galo tribe, symbolising the ethnic identity and craftsmanship of Arunachal Pradesh. The Chief Minister said this reflected the essence of the “Vocal for Local” initiative.
Modi also addressed the India-Japan Economic Forum, stressing stronger trade and investment ties between the two countries. He highlighted the potential for combining Japan’s advanced technology with India’s skilled workforce to drive future technological growth.
